Although people always say to check the tide table and don't go at high tide, we never do and always have a fun time. If the tide is in, you can look out off the stairs and enjoy the waves, then go back and look at the exhibit for an hour and you'll be fine. The exhibit is very well... More

The perfection of the interpretive center at this relatively new UNESCO site is how it blends geology, ecology and biology with intellectual discourse surrounding evolution in the 1800s. This is the site Darwin and others used to prove that fish crawled up onto the land. Beautiful GREEN building; the latest in interpretive display techniques. One-hour and half-day tours are available.... More

Amazing site with engaging and friendly staff. Very affordable entry fee that grants you access to the museum and the cliffs themselves (with a guided tour to boot). The museum is small, but boasts a great collection, and the guided tour is strongly recommended to get an idea of how the fossils appear within the cliffs themselves. I've been here... More

Helpful and knowledgeable staff make the visit just right. Displays visit is 5$ without tour, which could be free only to encourage those less interested in a couple or group. Tours for 30 minutes and 2 hours are excellent and informative for the locality.

You have to have a lot of imagination to picture the ancient lifeforms based on traces found here. I love to read about ancient creatures but I've realized the real paleontologist job is so much complicated because the remnants are really scarce and the interpretation almost seems as magic trick. Nevertheless, the geological layers coming atop are impressive, as well... More

A UNESCO site. All you need to know, not just about the Fundy tides in passing, but about initial famous discoveries in the late 1800s by early Canadian geologiists and others from around the world. It represents a variety of plant and tree material which has become fossilised over millennia and found in the ancient coal seams and in other... More

The center is perched on the Nova Scotia side of the Bay of Fundy on a long stretch of cliffs which regularly slough off Fossil plants and invertebrates from pre-dinosaur days. So no Jurassic park critters, but plenty to marvel at. Check the tides to make sure you arrive at low tide; the beach is inaccessible at high tide. A... More

We luckily made it here for the last 30 minute tour of the day at 1:30 p.m., as there was a function going on during the afternoon hours. Our guide, a man that usually does the 4 hour tour, was absolutely Fantastic! He was so enthusiastic about fossils! He showed us great fossils that are very close to where you... More
