Really fascinating place and highly recommended. We went when it was raining lightly, misty and magical. The guide was wonderful, the museum inside was very interesting.

There is a very interesting spot. It has a wonderful interpretive center about dinosaurs in general and the fossils that exist on this beach. Be sure to go during low tide. The cliffs are of shale. You can find all kinds of stones and you...More

This was one of the most interesting 2 hours I've spent in a long time. Totally lost track of time and could have stayed longer (if I didn't have to worry about high tide!). Don't have to be interested in archeology or geology to enjoy...More

We've found the UNESCO World Heritage sites are well worth the effort to get there. Joggins Fossil Cliffs reconfirmed our belief. The guide told us how much time we had and to keep an eye out because the tide was rising fast. We walked all...More

So glad we did not miss this on our trip to Nova Scotia. The receptionist highly recommended the geologist-led tour and it was definitely worth the additional money - the fossils are everywhere on the beach as well as in the cliffs, and we wouldn't...More

Check the times - center hours, and tides. Best to see at low tide. Lots of steps going down to the beach. We got there near closing - they lock the parking lot soon after the visitor's center closes. No collecting. The best way to...More

We were just heading west from the Cabot Trail when I saw sign for the Joggins exit and something clicked from earlier guide book browsing. Let's just take a chance and we did. It's a bit off the main highway but the trip was well...More

We really enjoyed this UNESCO World Heritage site, we went as the tide as going out. The Centre had great displays for all ages. We enjoyed the 30 minute tour, which was a good amount of time for our six year old. Next time I'd...More

We took the two-hour Adventure Tour with a knowledgeable and enthusiastic young guide named Mel, who did a great job explaining the geologic history of the area and how to identify fossils. By the end of our session, we knew enough to be finding fossils...More

We didn't know when the tide was low, but we took our chance driving here from Port Greville (about an hour drive). We walked around their short pathway and down the stairs, hoping to have access to the shore and go fossil hunting. It is...More

Permits are for research purposes only not for tourists to collects fossils. Permits are issued by the Province of Nova Scotia not by the Joggins centre.

A good 2 hours drive. They are almost directly across Bay of Fundy and Chignecto Bay from each other.

sorry, I just got this question. I haven't signed into Tripadvisor for a long time. I would totally skip the tour and just peruse the building. then go onto the beach yourself and walk around. Watch the tide, it comes in so... More
