We were pretty disappointed in the Malecon. Nothing special. Lots of hawking for sales and everything looked the same. Cheap! Narrow streets make driving precarious; and unless you like Mexican trinkets , skip it!

Based on other reviews, I was apprehensive about the Port. I was glad that the time of year we were there, there wasn’t overcrowded streets and shops. The vendors are polite and not overly pushy, and we found some great bargains on fun items.

So many people bugging you to buy stuff, do time share visits you can't relax and enjoy yourself for even a minute.

OK, I guess, but too many tourists. You need to bargain so much that it is not fun. I would say go once (watch where you park) and never return!

Spent late morning and early afternoon in the Old Port section of Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point). Nice walk beside the Sea or Cortez and great views of the shrimp boats. Lots of local color vendors and restaurants and pubs. Many photo ops here.

We went to this little vendor in old port to buy 5 pounds of fresh shrimp. He cleaned them for us and provided ice to get them back to the condo. Fair, friendly and we didn't get sick!

There are good restuarants, the shopping center deals mainly in dollars and is expensive. Dont even try to make a deal with these vendors. Also the shopping is more clothes than anything.

Rocky Fish has FRESH seafood and they are willing to make a deal with you, so you can always get a bargain. We can't leave town with stopping to fill our cooler with fresh shrimp.
