Very interesting museum with stories and history. Huge places with spacious exhibitions. Unfortunately no English at all.

Spent two hours in Museo de Arte e Historia. Entry was free. As the name implies this is where you come to study the art and history of this area. We spent two full hours here and enjoyed every minute of it even though most of the displays were in Spanish only.
Even sat a spell to listen to a full orchestra perform just outside the building.

The historical part was the best; we used an app on the phone to translate texts, but it was tedious. The displays were great and exhibits impressive. Well worth the time and very helpful for understanding the development of the region.

If all children visited the history of Mexico they would have a greater appreciation for their great culture.

This museum is a small, but well-organized spot to visit if you are visiting Leon. There is an art gallery/sculpture exhibit downstairs and a cultural/history exhibit upstairs.

We loved our visit to this museum. A terrific temporary exhibit and a little history in the permanent.

We spent a day in León after several days in Guanajuato and SMA. So glad we did! This museum is worth a 2-3 hour stop if you have time. The permanent exhibits are professional and informative. We speak Spanish fluently, and most audio was in Spanish; but English captions and placards were usually available as well. The rotating temporary exhibits apparently vary, so check the site to see what is current. I lost enjoyed seeing the rich history of the Bajío region in visual form.

This beautiful museum should not be missed. It is within easy walking distance of the convention center and surroundings. Admission was free for me but perhaps it was because it was on a Sunday. The guides are well-informed and eager to assist. It is filled with amazing exhibits and works of art. It is very clean and welcoming.

We toured the history section of this museum which gave a solid overview of the Bajío region and then saw a fantastic exhibit of the work of Rufino Tamayo. If you are in Leon, don't miss this museum.

I couldn't believe that this large modern museum is free! In most cities this would cost $10-20 usd. I especially enjoyed the exhibits on the history of Guanajuato and mining, especially after having toured the mines in Gto and Zacatecas. The 20 peso (!) Ruffino Tamayo exhibit is also worth checking out. Nice Educal bookstore downstairs.
