Overview
More
Sunshine Village sits high on the Continental Divide in the heart of Banff National Park, and is just minutes from the mountain town of Banff. Three sprawling mountains provide breathtaking sitelines, uninterrupted by any signs of civilization beyond the resort's leasehold. Ski or ride in Alberta and British Columbia in one run. Sunshine Village's seven-month season stretches from early November until late May - the longest non-glacial season in Canada. The Village's altitude of 7,082 feet ensures the snow stays dry. Sunshine can receive up to nine metres (30 feet) of snow in a season, and it stays all year.

Great area with great guides, especially Jim, Bill and Mike. The mountain has a variety of terrain, some great pow, and steeps. Super easy to reach from Banff on the free bus from the city. Friendly people.

Awesome day trip skiing here, again. Best conditions I have experienced here. You can't control the weather, so that's not why I gave it a 5. Staff were very welcoming from arrival to departure. Amazing how a warm welcome can make you forget the winter...More

Must be one of the best and most varied places to ski. Awesome! Weather was not great when we there in January but the snow was amazing and the Lodge is a great place to warm up

Sunshine Village ski area is probably North America's best bet for outstanding conditions over one of the longest seasons. While it doesn't get the mammoth powder many US resorts boast it does get more than enough excellent November-May snow. You can appreciate the high quality...More

It really depends on the weather too and what time of year you are heading up there. But yes well worth the hike, stunning scenery! And yes, wear comfortable hiking shoes.
