This is one of the most beautiful highways in the world, I think. Get a map at a visitors' center in Banff, Lake Louise or in Jasper so you know where the sites are and what they offer (vista, washroom, food, etc.) and take your...More

An amazing stretch of road. Be sure to self-drive along this parkway and take your time stopping at all the attractions along the way. Allow two days on the parkway, one going to Jasper, and another coming back to Banff, it's definitely worth it!

I planned the drive to Jasper & back over 2 days to get the full experience of this parkway, and with overcast and wildfires smoke on both days, the vista was not as impressive, but I could imagine it far more spectacular set to blue...More

There are many places to stop along the way to take him to beautiful Scenic views. We especially enjoyed two of the waterfalls, Athabasca and Sunwapta. Both are easily accessible.

The views as you travel this parkway can only be described as awesome. Mile after mile of stupendous mountain scenery, with glaciers, waterfalls and dramatic rivers.

No, not to get to the Icefields visitors center or the walking/hiking paths. As for seeing the icefields themselves, I believe you have to take a bus and can't do it yourself. But I would check with the park people to... More
