Rainy, but with the scent of pine and the beauty of the pre-winter scenery, made for a lovely walk. Walked past the upper chutes, but wasn’t wearing suitable rainproof clothes, so turned back. Plenty of water gushing through the canyon and shades of golds and...More

We have come here a lot over the past 15 years and it never disappoints. Depending on the time of year and the weather, it looks different each time. Definitely take the time to walk to at least the Lower Falls. Beautiful scenery!

This nearly flat paved walk through a wonderful wilderness was a real treat! The wide path is near enough to a stream that you always hear it, sometimes see it, until you get to the falls. We were there on a chilly October morning, the day...More

We visited Johnston Canyon as a last minute decision out of Calgary. It was a little overcrowded for my liking but the further up you went and off the beaten path it got much more enjoyable! The smells and sounds were enough to invigorate me...More

It's a nice short hike of 2,5 km one way. It will take you through a little canyon and you will walk along or above the river most of the time. In the second part there are some elevation meters, so any fitness is preferable....More

Nice waterfalls but the best is really to go until Inkpots, after the 2 water falls, where you have a great view on mountains, plains with a narrow fresh river and of course with the "inkpots" that are just crystal clear and colorful.

Unfortunately we only had time to walk to the first fall which was very envigorating. At places the path can be quite narrow and can only be accessed by one person at a time but the tourists keep moving as best they can, camera calls...More

Hi, Someone else asked a similar question. There was no barrier across the car park or footpath to the falls so it might not have an 'opening' time. A lot of people even parked on the grass as the car park was full so you... More

I did see a few pets on leash. Not sure if they are officially allowed or not.. but I didn't feel like anyone is there watching for stuff like that.
