Awesome views at both the lower falls and upper falls. I went in the winter so the path was slippery, but looking at frozen waterfalls was certainly something else. The hike is fairly "easy" in that there are not major slopes or hills and part of the path is fenced to avoid falling dangers. It is worth the extra walk... More

Well, first and fore most expect a lot of people. This winter time bring anything that will help you on the trail because it is dangerously SLIPPERY. I would suggest going when it is near warm to summer because everything is frozen.

Highly recommend. The falls are gorgeous. In the winter they freeze over but the water is still raging through the icecicles. Heads up, the path is really icy. Wear good shoes.

We managed to do this with a 4 year old. Extremely icy conditions in Feb with snow melt and freeze. Highly suggest some sort of shoe cleats we just managed with runners. The lower Falls is about half an hour but at time to that due to high traffic and ice. Upper Falls is about 1 hour there and back.

I walked through this today and can't recommend it highly enough. It was absolutely stunning and seeing a frozen waterfall was definitely a unique experience. One word of warning- people who didn't have ice-shoes were falling and injuring themselves and go early in the day to avoid crowds.

You don't need any guide with you, any travel agency to organise it for you. It is so simple, straightforward walk. There is a big parking place where you can leave your car and the sign where to start a trial. We walked with our four years old daughter who was absolutely fine to walk. However, we didn't reach upper... More

If you wish to have a nice easy trip in the forest, it’s a great place to go. The walk itself is not very difficult, but the view is very nice, lots of viewpoints and reasons to take pictures. You will see a narrow canyon with a river and several waterfalls. If you manage to come to the very end,... More

We went here late January 2017 (we have been in the summer as well). Great winter activity! The path was still walkable without crampons or snowshoes, and the falls were beautiful frozen!

We booked a morning tour with Banff Discovery Tours and came with a tour guide. The group was small; there were only 11 of us (from all over the Would). We rode the tour bus to the entrance of the canyon, put on our ice cleats, and got ready to hike. The hike is very mild for a physically active... More

Completed this tour with Banff Tours, morning and evening Banff tours collected from hotel in minibus journey took approx 25 mins roads were icy due to recent snowfall (drive was fine no concerns) We were fortunate to be the first arrivals at the Canyon so the pathway was quiet (9am approx) for our walk up the Canyon, it was however...
