We travelled from Vancouver on board the iconic Via Rail Canada's 'The Canadian' train, joining an overpriced Brewster road coach to Banff. On our return we took a Sun Dog minibus tour that despite the lack of viewing through the front (silly minibus design) was quite reasonable. A highlight was stopping at Bow Summit because we had not had snow... More

It's really worth taking the hike past the busy viewing platform of Peyto Lake. It was super busy in the parking lot, but not many people were on the trail so it felt nice to do the walk. Really enjoyed it, great views!

The parking lot is actually a little way off the Icefields Parkway, and then there is a walk of about half a mile up a fairly steep path to the viewpoint. From here there is an amazing view of Peyto Lake immediately below you, whilst away to the left is the bulk of Peyto glacier. The lake is a brilliant,... More

Although the walk from the car park is short, it is steep, but oh so worth it. At the top is s spectacular view of beautiful Peyto Lake and surrounding snow capped mountains.

You have to come to Bow Summit to enjoy the view of Lake Peyto down below. The spot has snow for nine months of the year. And at the beginning of September it had snowed.

We made it only to the first lookout as we were running late on our way to Jasper. The view is absolutely worth the stop, Peyto Lake is breathtaking for its colour, shape, location! I went up with a 5 year old and tools us about 20 minutes round trip with photos taken and everything. Don't take a stroller, unless... More

The path to the Bow Summit can be challenging for inexperienced climbers as it is a steeper hill, but is definitely worth the climb. On the first viewing point you are able to have a breathtaking look down out across Peyto Lake. The water is so blue and one of the best views you can get. Absolutely stunning!!

In terms of lake and mountain view, this is the best you can get with steps away from your car. So if you are visiting with small kids or seniors, you should not miss it! 7月初去的。地点靠近公路,非常方便,适合带小孩和老人的家庭。景色壮丽,个人认为比露易丝湖要好看。湖水颜色更深,视野更开阔!

Along the ice fields highway is an sign for the BOW SUMMIT. The sign should be changed and it should say, for the most amazing view in the world, turn here. We went last week, and were surprised that we found snow on the trail to the summit. As we went along the trail disappeared and the snow trail took... More

We went here late October, and it was snowing lightly by then. We took the paved trail from the lower parking lot (the other one, which was wheelchair-accessible, was closed) and reached the viewdeck in 10-15 minutes. Our 7-year old handled the walk well. The view from the deck was amazing! A must-see. The lake was still blue when we... More
