Definitely worth a visit! The lake is nice and peaceful, Rundle in the background. There are typically quite a few people around, but still worthwhile

One of many free attraction in and around Banff. Take the Vermillion Lakes drive; many pullouts for parking and pix.

I went for sunrise early and the place was swarming with tourists with cameras- almost 30 of them all crowded around a little melted patch of ice with their cameras. Would still recommend- fantastic watching the sun come up over Rundle.

A very pretty, scenic drive on a well-maintained road that runs parallel to the highway. We stopped to let our daughters skate on the frozen lake at a small man-made clearing.

One of the most classic and iconic images of Banff is from the Vermillion Lakes: Mount Rundle reflected in beautiful water. But it's so much more than that. In the summer, you can canoe or kayak on it. In the winter, you can skate on...More

Vermillion Lakes in November were partly frozen. There are views of more than one mountain peak, making it a great place for photography, and it was especially beautiful during sunrise.

Quiet trail very close to town. Easy trails for walking. The views of both ends of the valley are gorgeous. Beautiful sunrise, marshlands and birds.

Having walked up several hills the previous day; a local informed me this hike although 4.5km each way was on level ground. The walk takes you parallel to highway 1 passing several lakes along the way but is mainly lined either side by trees with...More

Yes, You can have dinner at the restaurant in the Juniper Hotel. It is situated on the lower slopes of Mount Norquay and the dinning room has an excellent view of Vermillion Lakes.
