We saw the falls in the spring when they were spectacular!!!! We also saw them in January when they were frozen over....Still beautiful.... There are very nice benches to sit and take a moment to 'take it all in'

Not as awe-inspiring in Winter to me, since it’s just snow and ice, with a bit of water running. It’s still gorgeous scenery though. Plus you can choose to walk the trail from town or park right there beside it and see it from many...More

Although frozen these falls are still spectacular, you can park your car really close and view the falls from various viewing points, be careful if you go up the stair walkway in the winter as they may be very icy

On a rainy day, we we did an all-day walk of the townsite. We saw approximately half of the buildings listed in the Walking Through Banff’s History leaflet (self-guided tour). Part of our walk was along the Bow Falls Trail to Bow Falls.

A very nice scenic place to go while in Banff. It is a little way from the main street so I recommend driving here. Parking can be difficult at times. Well worth the visit.

It is a major world tourist spot and it is free to visit. So if you are in Banff, you pretty much need to see this so you can say you did. Not the greatest but it is well known. I have been about 20...More

Absolutely beautiful! Must see! Though frozen (mostly) it was a great view and the guide we had was super knowledgeable!

Having visited these lovely falls in summer 2016, we went back on New Year’s Day to find them completely frozen and being able to walk on the river!!! Beautiful 👍🏻

Bow Falls is the 20-25 minutes walk around Banff Town to the scenic beauty of Bow River. Its not a conventional Waterfall from height! Boating activities with family are possible in the river flow, as the flow of River is calm.

Well it's not spectacular as waterfalls go in the height department .. but in the height of summer when the mountain snow is melting a very large volume of water is roaring through. Visit in winter ( early Jan 18 ) and it's a frozen...More

Unlike the Fairmont Banff Springs, the Rimrock is not within easy walking distance to a river or stream. People do a lot of fly fishing inside the city limits of Calgary, and for those spots, you really just have to look... More

The paths are almost all paved and with built in steps so not steep at all but you need to be okay with stairs. About a 3 minute drive to the parking lot from centre of town.
