Bow River runs through Banff. Visitors can park at the viewing area for the falls. A hiking path runs along the river...the walk is groomed, rated easy. It’s a great activity to kickoff your visit to Banff.

We were part of Sr. Citizens tour of the Canadian Rockies, and during the tour we visited several sites and parks. Bow Falls was one of the favorites for our group. Great views, and easy to walk around and capture great photos.

Great easy, short hike along a well maintained trail. The falls at the end of the trail are quite beautiful.

It's nice and is typically Canadian: rustic and beautiful and somewhat isolated. But with it being overrun with camera-toting visitors, it is impossible to use the bushes when nature comes calling. Sure hate to do that, but with the nearest john back in town, choices...More

Bow falls are really beautiful, it is a popular destination in Banff (lots of people, RVs, buses...). We were visiting the falls and then a downpour came. We ran to our car at the parking lot looking for shelter and we were waiting the rain...More

Really easy to get to with limited walking right in banff. Its a nice thing to add to itinerary if your just hanging around town. Easy parking, easy access!

This was the very last stop of our Canadian adventure. Be prepared for lots of people. Not exactly the most beautiful place in the area, but the falls were fairly impressive. We enjoyed dipping our feet in the water one last time while here.

A short walk from the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, the Falls are well worth a visit. They are pretty powerful and take your breath away momentarily

The paths are almost all paved and with built in steps so not steep at all but you need to be okay with stairs. About a 3 minute drive to the parking lot from centre of town.
