Made it my No.1 priority to visit Peyto Lake, en route from Banff to Jasper.. It is located maybe 10 minutes drive from Bow Lake, and well signed. From the car park, the viewing platform is around a 10 minute hike up a path that does have a couple of steep sections, but the view that awaits is just incredible!!... More

Instagramers, you can indiscreetly use #nofilter. A short hike you would take a 100 times over for that view. No reviews can do much justice, just watch the pictures instead :)

There is a bit of a hike to the lookout but the views are sensational and then you see the lake which is an incredible turquoise blue.

The walk up to the lookout was short and so worth it! I stopped by on my way back from Jasper via the Icefields Parkway and it was probably my favorite lake that we saw in the area. Go during sunset! It's insanely beautiful.

While the hike is a bit strenous for 60 year olds, its is definitely do able and the veiws are amazing. The trail was flower lined and paved. We will go back, but this is much better thatn Lake Louise!

One of the most beautiful lakes in the Rocky mountains. Beautiful color of water. Just a pity that you can not go on the trip to reach the lake.

The view from the Bow Summit Lookout was breathtaking. We're simply carried away. Some people were saying that right-most part of the lake looked like a piece of maple leaf, I agreed. The colour of the lake just amazing. The photos were stunning, even it's not sunshining.

So many glacial lakes to see! This is going to be one of the least crowded by far. The viewpoint will still be busy, because of it's small size, but at least you will not have to deal with the throngs of tourists that you do at Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Emerald Lake and Bow Lake. Named for the mountain... More
