We have only stopped at Lake Louise in the summer, we took a chance and stopped in the winter, it is still fantastic scenery, plus got to experience a snow squall off of the lake and view the ice sculptures of Chateau Lake Louise, fantastic!

We visited in winter and the views across the lake are stunning. The ice bar is an attraction on the shore that is worth a visit. From here you can walk round the various ice sculptures and use as a starting point for various walks around the lake and into the hills. Ice skating, horse drawn sleigh rides and sledging... More

We were lucky enough to see Lake Louise in both winter and summer. Summertime the Lake is swarming with tourists, people out canoeing on the Lake, hiking the mountains and the flowers are in full bloom around the lake. It really is a beautiful place to visit. Summer time is very busy with tourists try and arrive early if you... More

We were here when the ice sculpting was taking place, it was so amazing to see what great talent there is. The lake is beautiful , we were able to skate on it which was so fun!

Lake Louise is the largest of the three ski areas in Banff, and if you are staying in Banff it is about 45 mins on a ski bus to get there. That said the journies there and back weren't troublesome and if one bus was full, another would quickly arrive, so there wasn't an issue getting to or from the... More

Great to stop by for a quick photo and walk around the ice :) Ice sculptures lining the walk way and 2 huge skating rinks - one for hockey only and one for skating only. Did not see a rental area for skates which I thought was weird. Maybe there is one inside Chateau Lake Louise.

However, expect problems with parking and a huge amount of other sightseers  Walk along the lake or rent a canoe. You will never forget this amazing place. And on the way back from this lake to our campsite we saw a Grizzly bear! The area around this lake is well known as a bear area, but don’t be afraid.... More

A heavenly place with the freshest air in the world and most marvelous views. The color of the lake makes you feel as if you are in a northern paradise. The hotel is of grandeur elegance and it inspires romance and adventure. Walk along the treck and find yourself exploring this wonderful remote location.

We were lucky enough to visit Lake Louise in September when it was blue and in February when it was all ice. There were a ton of visitors in September when we went, parking is insane. You will be driving around for a while for a spot. When we went in February, there weren't as many people. We went to... More
