This scenic lake is absolutely stunning. The turquoise calm waters and towering mountains are definitely worth a visit. There is less car parking so they do limit the numbers of people visiting. I would make this the first of your visits of the day, first...More

What a beautiful colour the lake is but you must climb up to the viewing area to appreciate the best of the turquoise colour . It is set off so well by the outstanding scenery around and is so peaceful that I just wanted to...More

Interesting area to walk around. A bitterly cold and windy place to see. I loved the naturalness of the wood and deposits.

Breathtaking views, lots of roam to roam, lots of parking however finding a spot is challenging on busy days. I would recommend going during the week and there are so many tourists but once you are out of your car and walking around the area...More

Get there before 8:00 to get a parking spot. Great views, especially from above and nice hiking trails, too.

Personally I think this Lake is prettier than it's neighbouring one. However it is very busy (as they both are). We waited 1 hour in line for the shuttle to get us there as the carpark was already full by 7am (this was September). But...More

If you go to the Canadian Mounties, DO NOT MISS LAKE MORAINE. To us it was much better than the OVERPRICED and OVERRATED Lake Louise. Lake Moraine is MUCH BETTER and a lot more BEAUTIFUL than Lake Louise. The Hotel in Lake Louise is OVERPRICE,...More

Moraine Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes I've ever seen. It's also one of the best views in Banff National Park, definitely a must see! I think Moraine Lake is much better than Lake Louise.

During a trip in September we attempted to check out Moraine Lake and Lake Louise on a Friday afternoon but there was absolutely no parking! One person suggested arriving before 9;00am to get parking. We arrived the next morning at 8:00am and parking at Moraine...More

We were fortunate to be on a tour, so our bus took us right up to the actual moraine. We were told the best view was from the top of the moraine, and the guide wasn't kidding. The view of the Ten Peaks dusted with...More

If the children are obedient and over 10 years old, I would take them up the rock pile, but if they are younger, I would have them on reins. The path is treacherous and you could break and ankle (or something worse) if you... More

Did not see any cruises on Lake Moraine. A canoe might be more practical as its a fairly small lake compared to Lake Louise for example.

In all likelihood you are confusing the two 'M' lakes, Moraine & Maligne (near Jasper), or possibly a third 'M' lake, Minnewanka (nearer to the town of Bannf). Minnewanka & Maligne both have cruises, but Moraine does not... More
