Smaller than Lake Louise, more natural ... you don't have to see a huge sprawling hotel on the shore, as the one by Lake Louise. Moraine Lake is surrounded only by nature: beautiful mountains. There is a rocky trail to climb up for some truly...More

Moraine Lake, located in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, was a highlight of a recent road trip that my husband and I took. The lake itself was so blue, so calm and so beautiful! Although it was very crowded, we found that going after...More

Beautiful lake and views. You need to get there as early as possible as the car park fills up quickly.

Lucky to have this as part of our trip. Great opportunity for some fantastic photos. The colours are unbelievable and we had the good luck to still see snow on the top of the mountains in August.

+ Quite steep trails leaving the Moraine Lake to reach Sentinel Pass. + The lake has very clear blue color. + The trail along the lake is flat and easy to walk. - Canoeing on the lake is pretty expensive: about 100 CAD / hour.

If you are on the fence, just go, and it will be well worth it (probably). For me I want to work (walk 2 hours up hill, both ways) for views like this and if I can just drive up to, it feels a little...More

Moraine Lake is definitely one not to be missed. There is a climb up through the rocks, made accessible by a path, that is so worthwhile. The view from the top is out of this world, especially if you get there early enough to beat...More

Everybody goes to Lake Louise so follow the crowds but don´t miss Moraine Lake. Climbing to the top of the rocks to the view point you shall realize that it has a truly unique colour (deep blue when I visited it).

Avoid the crowds who stay lakeside at Moraine or the mountaineers who occupy the more difficult trails and take the relatively easy walk to Consolation Lake. Your prize will be a quiet but breathtaking scenery of waterfalls, mountains and the lake that are much more...More

Did not see any cruises on Lake Moraine. A canoe might be more practical as its a fairly small lake compared to Lake Louise for example.

In all likelihood you are confusing the two 'M' lakes, Moraine & Maligne (near Jasper), or possibly a third 'M' lake, Minnewanka (nearer to the town of Bannf). Minnewanka & Maligne both have cruises, but Moraine does not... More

Yes, no problem! It's not that hard to paddle around, you'll have enough time to see the lake.
