A beautiful site. We drive to Lake Louise which was a good thing. Seeing this lake first we would have been disappointed with lake Louise

After reading the reviews about the lack of parking we arrived early, with only a few spots left to park. I can image in the height of the season it would be impossible. Even at such a time it was heaving with coachloads of tourists.

Much like Lake Louise, Moraine Lake must be seen in person to truly understand how beautiful it is - pictures just don't do it justice. The colour of the water is amazing, the background is jaw dropping and it is less crowded than Lake Louise . If you are physically able to, the climb to the top of the rocks... More

EQUAL in beauty to Lake Louise is Moraine Lake. We enjoyed a lovely day hiking around the lake and up its hill feasting our eyes on the dream blue water and the season's initial dusting of snow on the mountain tops. Take some extra time and climb the "rock pile" which has steps in the back for a better view... More

There's a walkway which we took up up to the viewpoint rather than scrambling up the rocks to reach it. And what a view it is! The lake is back lit in the morning and by afternoon the mountains made shadows on the lake. Very difficult to get a great photograph in late September. We went on a great hike... More

Wow what a beautiful area. I honestly do not know how anyone could rate this less than a 5. Such beauty is truly a gift. Lots of trails to do around here, great for all experience levels. You can canoe on the lake which is the bluest of blues. It is very touristy, so go in the morning to beat... More

As the title says, this is one beautiful lake to photograph. I came late in the day so the light was scorching out the far mountains. Probably early morning would be the best lighting to get a great shot. However, anytime is perfect for enjoying the views. Be warned, this is a very popular and busy spot during peak season... More

Moraine, Louise, Peyto is the most beautiful lakes in the world. All located in the Park of Banff. I came to Canada just because of them! I recommend to stay in the Park for a couple of days no less. Nature is crazy!!!

Moraine Lake is stunning. The drive up to the lake is lovely and makes you feel like you are miles away from anywhere. The Lake itself is the most amazing colour and the surrounding trees, rocks and snow make the colour of the lake all the more unnatural looking as its so vivid. You must do the short climb at... Half an hour late pick up for hotel, garbled explanation. This was part of the Lakes and Waterfalls Tour-yeah right.Meant to stop at Peyto Lake, bus driver just said no when asked. Couldnt wait to move on from Moraine Lake which was a shame as there were lots of photo opportunities here. Didnt stop at the Valley of Ten Peaks either as... More
