We liked Moraine lake better than Lake Louise because it was a lot less crowded. We went here in the late afternoon to avoid the crowd. Earlier in the day we saw that rangers had closed the parking lot because of too many cars. We had no problem getting our large camper parked around 5PM. The lake is beautifull and... More

The drive from Lake Louise to Morriane is scenic. The only downside is that this place is often very busy and the parking is full. So recommend going their on the week days, especially true for summer. Check the weather so that you can avoid the days when it rains or has snow.

Moraine is my favourite lake in the Lake Louise area. The valley of the 10 peaks makes for a more dramatic scenery than Lake Louise. Do NOT try to go there between 10am and 4pm because you will not get a parking spot.

The lake at Christmas time is absolutely beautiful. The Fairmont had a skating rink, and an ice castle right on the lake. It is a definite must do and place to explore.

Moraine lake is one of the jewels of the Canadian Rockies, tugged away about 15 km from the town of Lake Louise. It's surrounded by beautiful mountains called the valley of seven peaks. If you are a hiker, there are nice trails starting right besides the lake for a summer activity. The pathway to the lake closes generally at the... More

Well....if anything can take away a star from this place would be the parking, but that is not the Lakes Fault! We visited in Mid-September and it was below freezing in the morning, so dress appropriately. We arrived at 8:30am and got one of the final parking spots left, but we were lucky and got the spot closest to the... More

Moraine Lake is a classic Banff National Park place to visit, and one of the most beautiful anywhere in the world, so definitely a Rocky Mountains Must Do. Bring a picnic. Pricey area for eating out. Or spend some money if you have it cause there are some great places. Seriously, planning needed if hiking further afield as bears frequent... More

Just go to relax, drink in nature, and walk through the forest beside the lake. Yes, there are too many tourists, but most respect the quietness of the woods. Oh, and look up at the mountains around you!
