From the splendor of the Rocky Mountains to the heart of Destination Africa, The Calgary Zoo takes you to see almost 900 animals from around the world. Trek through the gorilla’s rainforest, safari over the Savannah to watch the hippos swim, or climb the Canadian Wilds to see a grizzly bear. Cool off and get beak to nose with 4 species of penguins in our popular Penguin Plunge or visit endangered red pandas and amur tigers in Eurasia! Wind down your trip with a walk through our fragrant Dorothy Harvie Gardens or sit with the butterflies in ENMAX Conservatory. You'll love knowing that every visit helps protect endangered animals at home and in the wild.

NEW in 2017 is the unique and immersive permanent Land of Lemurs exhibit. Coming in 2018 are the iconic giant pandas!

The Calgary zoo has a diverse selection of animals from all over the world separated by region. My favourite is the Canadian Wilds, however the African Safari section is great too. Zoos can come under fire for the general treatment of animals but The Calgary Zoo is a forerunner in the treatment of their animals and trying to make their... More

We have visited many times. During the day, in the evening, during the summer and winter, It is always a great place to visit with the family. The year passes are not too expensive if you use them regularly. It is actually a great price. I do live in Cochrane, so we don't go as often as we would like.... More

I have embarked on a tour of the Calgary Zoo many times. I have taken my children, my friends and have attended a work event there. I have never been disappointed. It's odd to see the hippos swim in their own, um, stuff, but that's nature. The gorilla habitat is quite superb. The have an aviary sanctuary that is excellent... More

This zoo was leaps and bounds better than the edmonton zoo and worth the drive from edmonton. Being there in october was nice as the weather was good and because it was not hot the animals where out in every exhibit that was open( a few were closed for remodel). The areas to view the animals from where nice in... More

Great day out the kids had a blast as did the parents ;-) Lots to see and I thought the food in the restaurant was reasonably priced. Would highly recommend taking a day trip to the zoo. We have also been to the Christmas lights as the zoo, not many animals to see at this time of year but the... More

Of all the zoos i've seen this is in the top three. Very large, mainly due to the North American section. Bison, Elk, Big Horn Sheep mountain Goats and more.Very good Mountain Gorilla enclosure and an underwater view of Hippo"s walking on the bottom. The only reason it is not five stars is the price. The family pass is great value,... More

The Calgary Zoo is a great tourist attraction and features many exotic animals! In the Calgary Zoo there should be a panda that came from China and is there for a limited time. Its a great place to visit in the summer, so if your seeing this in any time make sure you go to the Calgary Zoo!

Well, there is a lot of empty space, a lot of snack shops, a lot of construction... and hardly any animals. A pretty sterile and uninspiring experience, compared to other zoos. Yes, it's cold here, so you have to allow for that. But...

I am sorry that your experience was not a positive one. We are excited about our new lemur exhibit due to open in summer 2017 but with that comes construction to create this unique immersive habitat. The construction you are referring to around the island is the City's flood mitigation, an essential project to protect the zoo from future flooding... More

A little disappointing as there are a lot of closures just now due to some work going on around the island. But the kids always find something exciting. Ryder (almost 3) loves the meerkats!
