From the splendor of the Rocky Mountains to the heart of Destination Africa, The Calgary Zoo takes you to see almost 900 animals from around the world. Trek through the gorilla’s rainforest, safari over the Savannah to watch the hippos swim, or climb the Canadian Wilds to see a grizzly bear. Cool off and get beak to nose with 4 species of penguins in our popular Penguin Plunge or visit endangered red pandas and amur tigers in Eurasia! Wind down your trip with a walk through our fragrant Dorothy Harvie Gardens or sit with the butterflies in ENMAX Conservatory. You'll love knowing that every visit helps protect endangered animals at home and in the wild. NEW in 2017 is the unique and immersive permanent Land of Lemurs exhibit. Coming in 2018 are the iconic giant pandas!

First time attending with kids. They enjoyed all the sights, even though a few favourites were too shy/hot to come out. A couple areas were blocked off for construction and renovation. The new lemur experience was fantastic. Expensive for a family visit, but you'll get...More

We have been to many many zoos around the world and this one is one of the better ones. Although it's a bit pricey we were able to save a few dollars with a coupon found in hotel lobby. Highlights were the penguins and hippos....More

I have visited the Calgary Zoo on several occasions, and I love it! There is a large variety of animals and their enclosures are excellent. I especially love the primates, and watching the gorillas is fascinating.

Came here with family, including a 6 year old. The zoo has huge parking lots, which were nearly full by the time we arrived on a Friday - however we found a spot. Paying for parking was pretty easy - there are machines near the...More

Unfortunately this stellar zoo had many areas destroyed by the massive flood a few years ago.. Much has been cleaned up and restored thankfully.. It's as far as I'm concerned a zoo to visit in Canada... Enjoy..

I must admit I was a little disappointed with Calgary Zoo. I was really looking forward to my visit, but a lot of work was being done and a lot of animals were missing! The Lemur get together was off too! The animals that were...More

We had a great time at the zoo. There is so much to see you really need a full day. We can't wait to see the pandas next year!

6 hours and we didn't get to see everything there is just so much. Kids were in love from start to end. I appreciated all the little break spots so we could cool down on a hot day and the kids could play. It's unfortunate...More

Definitely! You can take your own food into some of the cafeteria areas, although there may be some tables where you can sit only if you've purchased their food. There are also picnic tables around and about the zoo so you... More
