Even in winter, the path along the Elbow / Bow River is cleared so dog walkers, strollers and joggers can access. Nice view down to the river, and views of bridges dotted with groups of Canadian geese back a bit too early

Calgary did not excite us all that much. After going to the museum, we decided to walk along the river. Three hour free parking on the street made it easy. Calgary was still recovering from a snow storm so we had to watch our step with lots of slick spots. It was a Thursday and first sunny day in awhile... More

I love the Bow.. During all seasons it's beautiful. Calgary is a very lucky city to have such a beautiful river bisecting the city. The pathways and wildlife make it even better. The river is a great place to just go and gather your thoughts.

If you're in Calgary and a flyfisher you need to fish the Blue Ribbon bow it's a beautiful river to drift fish. You will hook into some nice Rainbows and Brown trout.

Have been down the Bow many times kayaking. Love it. It is wonderful that it is right in the middle of the city. Easily accessible.

This is an awesome river to be driving over if you are in Calgary. It's named bow river because it's filled with bows. Great attraction.

As far as rivers go, the Bow River is not that impressive. It is closer to a large stream. However, the city pathways along the river offer walking alternatives to the model city for urban sprawl. Perhaps you can ignore the fact that the city is designed for cars instead of people and do a walking tour of Calgary, starting... More
