While it may be confusing to get around at first, it's easy enough to get your bearings with all the interactive maps at multiple points. Plus, there's plenty of shops, both retail and food, so you can't starve and go hungry! It is important to note that some of the walkways close sooner in the evening than others.

I was just visiting the city and found this handy. I imagine if you worked downtown this would be indispensable to escape the weather!

What a fantastic idea to build this so many years ago! It is indispensable if you work downtown. Can get to pretty much anywhere using the +15 comfortably especially in the dead of winter! Use it every working day! Good job City of Calgary

These walkeways link most major buildings at the first floor level and mean you can cross town from building to building without having to go out and be exposed to the harsh winter conditions. A must explore network. This is why you see few people on the streets in winter.

When we first moved to Calgary x years ago the +15 Skywalk was a daily exercise routine as we lived downtown for 6 months.. my whole concept of downtown Calgary is based on this.. though things and places have gone through great changes!

Great way to walk around the city, indoors! Especially welcome on wet snowy days. Shops and restaurants are easily accessible.

The plus 15 is a really good way to get around Calgary especially when it is cold but you need to know where you are and where you are going, otherwise you can wander aimlessly for long periods of time. There doesn't seem to be any maps. Sometimes I need to go outside just to get my bearings again.

As a winter city, the City of Calgary has done a lot to make the cold periods happily livable. One of the best things they've coordinated is the magnificent +15 elevated pedestrian sidewalk system - 18 km's of walkways, 62 bridges interconnecting most of the downtown. One of my favourite locations is the Winter Garden in Jamieson Place, 308 4... More
