...a reminder of Calgary's industrial past. If you're walking by fast and not looking up, you can miss it. Makes for an interesting picture. Nice brick work! If you're coming down to Eau Claire, check it out, otherwise, don't waste your time.

The original smokestack of Eau Claire lumber. Designated heritage site. A good place to meet up with friends.

Good food! Pricey, but if you appreciate a tasty bit of Veggie food you'll pay :). Friendly Canadian service with a smile. Would recommend!

Remainder of Calgary Industrial past in Au Claire area, it now serves as a link to another Industrial age when factories, metalworks, sawmills underpinned Calgary.

Notice this landmark as you walk from Downtown towards Princes Island Park. It's a Calgary Historic Landmark that gets little notice. Maybe because nobody knows the story.

It served the transit garages that on the site until 1988, and before an industrial past that included the Eau Claire lumber mill. It's a designated municipal historic artifact and protected from relocation. This has...More

It's just a smokestack, but its worth a look on your way to Fionn MacCools Pub, the Barley Mill Pub, or 1886 Cafe. Then do some reading about the old lumber history of this part of town. Fascinating, but the smokestack is only a teaser...More

Not much to see, if you are walking past it you may want to stop by for a sec at the traffic light, or walk past it to eau clare mall/princess island. makes for a good photo for a card etc.
