We are so fortunate in Edmonton to have a series of walks through the Whitemud Ravine. Once you are out on the trails you don't feel as if you are int he city at all. Our dog loves to ramble through the bush and we have even seen moose and deer on our excursions. Of course, there are also the... More

My favorite place in all of Edmonton to walk. Beautiful this time of year (Autumn) as the leaves are so many colors and literally falling at your feet as you walk. Very serene. Great place to walk and think.

Whitemud park is located in the south part of the city and goes for several kilometers eventually emptying into the North Saskatchewan river. The creek is still flowing and has many beaver dams and foot bridges to watch these wonderful creatures at work. The walk paths are very well maintained and provide city dwellers a chance to experience the great... More

A beautiful trail found just off of the Whitemud near snow Valley. A short walk in and you are surrounded by tall lush evergreens, Ash, Elms and more, this is a great walk for families too. Y Dan go for a couple km or more depending on the routes you choose. Pets are allowed on leashes, no bikes though. We... More

This is my absolute favourite place to bird in the city. In spring and summer, you'll find pileated woodpeckers, eastern phoebes, tree swallows and common goldeneyes easily. If you're lucky, you'll find olive-sided warblers or ruby-crowned kinglets. If you're extremely lucky, you might see a great blue heron. I usually start at the pond at the entrance to Fort Edmonton... More

This is one of the best walking trails in Edmonton. Turn off Fox Drive east of the Campbell Bridge and park by the Savage Centre. Hike upstream, crossing several bridges, through old growth forest. This is a great place for birdwatching. In the summer you will find chickadees, magpies, vireos, robins, ducks of various sorts, owls, Canada geese, wood warblers... More

I love this place, I take my Newfoundland Dogs here to swim as well as for hikes on the trails. Lots of wildlife & nicely groomed walking trails. Great park by the North Saskatchewan River.
