This is a gravel road that basically just keeps you climbing in a straight line. There are so many trees along each side that you can’t see the magnificent view until the very top is reached. Steep, hard, boring hike until you get to the...More

What can I say, everywhere we went was great but I must say that Maligne Lake and Maligne Canyon were standouts.

Don't be deceived by the 'hills' label - this would be a mountain rather than a 'hill' by UK standards. Amazing views from the top down onto Maligne lake and the surrounding mountains. The start/end of the hike is on a road so not very...More

Wow, what an amazingly breathtaking place it is. The hike uphill, which isn't all too easy, took us about 2 1/2 hours. But can easily be done in less time. The difficulty makes it a rather less travelled place, which only adds to its beauty....More

Hike starts out on a gravel service road. BE AWARE- 1/3 of the way up- you can take the trail that goes through the woods. Much nicer to hike this way than to stay on service road. Pretty trail with sections to look back at...More

Best bits were meadows near top with flowers and marmots/squirrels and views from top. BUT at top there is a short bit of a ridge path with loose shale and steep drop on one side. I suffer vertigo and needed words of encouragement from my...More

We hiked Bald Hills loop at the beginning of July and did that classical shortcut up – fire road down way. Shortcut is much steeper, but has wonderful views and makes the hike shorter. We had the hike preplanned on ViewRanger and used that for...More

Hiking along fireroads gets pretty tedious, and a fire road makes up the majority of this trail; however, it's still a good workout and the views at the top are worth it! The mini scramble to the upper viewpoints are fun!

As we were experiencing smokey conditions because of the fires elsewhere we arrived to clear skies and a lovely coloured lake to get some great photos [a little lucky]
