Nanaimo Museum: Discover Nanaimo’s fascinating history in our new museum located in the VI Conference Centre. The main gallery offers a sense of what life was like for Nanaimo's earliest settlers and the Snuneymuxw First Nation. Our award winning replica coal mine is a special treat. The museum also manages the Bastion, an original Hudson's Bay Company post built in 1853. Don’t miss the gift shop!Museum Hours: 10am - 5pm Monday to SaturdaySummer Hours: Open Daily 10am - 5pm

Interesting and full of information, but a bit boring for younger kids:( I enjoyed it greatly and learned a bunch about coal miners but didn't stay as long as I would have liked due to my kids becoming tired and bored.

My wife and I have been to museums all over BC. You might say that's one of our things to look for. We were surprised by it. At first you walk through the gift shop (most museums make you leave out of one) and you...More

Plan to spend maximum 30 minutes in this so called "museum". Not sure why they charged us money to visit it as there is not much to see there.
