We booked a perfect kayaking excursion through Jamie's Whaling Station/Paddle West Kayaking. Our fabulous guide Emma took us out to Meares Island. This was the single best way to see the Sound.

We kayaked in Grice Bay at high tide, crossing to Indian Island and back. Could have paddled around the island but did not have time. Accompanied by a seal. Very calm and peaceful in the Inlet.

We enjoyed a boat tour which drew passengers within 40m of a black bear scouring the beach for fresh shellfish. Seals were swimming in the deeper waters, and we saw them too. Misty conditions framed many photo ops of the landforms.

An outstanding, natural waterway well used by locals and tourists, I spent three tranquil days observing this. The silent ferry transports locals to and from Tofino. It is also the hub of whale, wildlife and hot spring tour departures. Seaplanes, water taxis and a rescue...More

We took a boat tour thru Lemmens Inlet and the beauty of the green hillsides of ancient cedar trees, blue water and ever changing sky are stunning. I highly recommend a boat tour to appreciate the scenery.

Clayoquot Sound is a very beautiful area. The marina area that serves it is nice. Many in the area are into the arts of past era. Surfing. The Sound it self is pristine beauty. Take a float plane ride. You won't regret it.

Unpredictable. Dress in layers . Water is always cold. Anyone I have ever observed in water paddle boarding or surfing definitely had a wet suit on even in summer months. Gorgeous place!

Yes, although the ocean is noted for being rough there are protected coves. It should be a great place to kayak and has every possible convenience.
