Granville Street is a long street. I am only going to talk about the downtown area. Downtown the street cars are banned. The mall area dates back to the 1980s. Its a bit of a mixed bag. There are some great restaurants pubs etc. There are some businesses with a shadier background such as pawn shops etc. There are a... More

Granville Street Mall/Granville Street is always evolving, improving itself. Between north end of Granville Street Bridge and Georgia Street, visitors can enjoy boutiques, eating establishments of every variety, food carts, department stores and street life. An underground mall is accessible from the Bay, Scotia Tower or Nordstrom. Easily accessible by public transit, this is a place to see how one... More

A lot of Granville Street is seedy with old rundown buildings- there are some attractions but I'd avoid it unless going to a specific location on the street. Expect panhandlers

This shopping mall is connected with the skytrain which takes you up into this iconic street. Granville traffic is limited to buses and people walking, it's nice for a change. This street connects you to many of the other shopping areas.

This is another old street in Vancouver. Various sections offer different sights and sounds. There are restaurants, shops, fast food places, buskers, street peddlars, and unfortunately homeless people sleeping on the sidewalks. Garbage was left in many places along the street. Not impressive.

Neighbourhood Profile
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
