Roman Building in Downtown Vancouver

The building reminds you of a Roman Colosseum built in the middle of downtown Vancouver . It is a stunning building from the outside and a joy to visit inside.

As we are not residents of Van we only went to see the architecture of the library but did nip in to have a look at the services on offer - seems to have all library services covered. Lots of little cafes here and shops. Love the architecture of the place. An observation - lots of homeless people seem to... More

This library is simply amazing, from its architecture to its location. And of course, the literature selection! It's many cafes will make your visit even better, and the friendly staff top it all off! And yes, the Schwarzenegger '6th Day' movie was filmed there!

When I first visited, one of the clerks attempted to put me off joining, however, his colleague quickly kept my interest and made it very easy. I am glad she did, because there is such a good collection of books here. I also hired DVD boxsets.

I'm surprised with the crazy developers snatching any building they can to turn into apartments and condos that this place is still around. It's a great library with lots of resources.

Staying in Robson Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Robson Street
Robson Street is a shopper's paradise. Whether a window shopper or a serious trendsetter, a fashionista or a dabbler, the crowd of independent boutiques, quirky one-off shops, and well-known luxury brands on Robson Street have something to cater for every itch in your wallet. As a result, it draws a diverse crowd, and the people-watching along this famous walking thoroughfare is a primary attraction. In between the clothing shops both high-street and budget-friendly are a number of cafes to lay down your load, as well as numerous specialty stores ranging in their wares from music, to art, to city souvenirs. Known as "Vancouver's Runway," if a new trend is on the rise, you'd spot it here first.
