A very complete aquarium featuring exotic as well as local marine life. There are many animations and explanations, inside aquariums and outside pools. Plenty of staff to ask questions. Unfortunately the two belugas have passed away, but you can easily spend half a day inside. If you can choose a day with less visitors, do so. We visited a Monday... More

It's a nice place to visit it with your hole family. Also on rainy days. You get a lot of information especially about the different coast near Vancouver. It's not really cheap, but my family was happy after visiting.

This acquarium has it all: large variety of creatures of all types organized in major categories, alot of touch and q&a for children to learn, movie theatre which includes 3D educational films about these animals. There a touch pool with rays of different types, which you can observe and touch in a friendly way. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly.... More

We went on one of the evening opening events and were looking forward to it because it is a great aquarium but, as is often the case with aquaria, it is usually full of loud excitable children. So we were looking forward to a more serene experience. The hole in our plan proved to be that the aquarium serves alcohol... More

I am sure it will rain you visit Vancouver. Spend some time at the aquarium. They run a rescue program for animals. Not just fish but other creatures of interest. Snakes, spiders, bats & frogs. I am sure I have missed a few. The kids will love it. Very informative and hands on.

Take a day off and take your kids or yourself and friends to see this place. It is a place to visit at least once just too learn a bit about animals and just experience it.

Based on the positive reviews, we took time out of our trip to visit the Aquarium. The Aquarium is nice but small. It will only take a couple of hours to tour the whole facility. We went to the Aquarium before exploring Stanley Park. In hindsight I would not have gone to the Aquarium and spent more time at the... More

The Vancouver Aquarium is a fantastic place to spend a couple hours at. We were lucky to have gotten to see the Beluga whales, but we were very saddened to hear about the death of the two belugas only 2 weeks after returning from our visit to Vancouver. The aquarium as fantastic exhibits and enclosures for their wildlife. The entire... More

I loved the aquarium animals. The most unusual name was the false killer whale "Chester". My favourite was the ray pool because you could touch them. (Written by 10 year old son). The aquarium was a brilliant place for us all to attend and kept us all enthralled and interested. There are informative talks throughout the day and a wide... More

We visited here on a recent trip to Vancouver as our friend takes her children often. My daughter who was 14 months at the time loved wandering around and there was lots for her to see and do. There are a number of different exhibitions within the aquarium which have varying degrees of interaction. From touching the rays to taking... More

Staying in Stanley Park

Neighbourhood Profile
Stanley Park
Stanley Park is Vancouver's premier spot to get up close and personal with nature and animals. The grassy expanse offers outdoor teahouses and stunning views, beachfront hideaways and splash parks. It is a typical getaway spot for friends and families, especially as it is home to Vancouver's aquarium, and some of its best equestrian outlets.
