The Aquabus provides quick trips around False Creek by downtown Vancouver, but you can also take a short sightseeing tour of the Creek and see the skyscrapers of downtown from the water. It's fun, safe, easy to get into and out of, and suitable for the whole family.

We got on an Aquabus at Yaletown, bought a day pass and were hoping to go to Maritime Museum/Kitsilano area. We didn't realize until we got to Granville Island that the Aquabus doesn't go that far. We should have taken one of the blue boats (False Creek Ferries).

Hopping in the aqaubus is so fun it takes you from in side of false creek to the other side to Granville Island and the base of Richards street where you can head into downtown. You can purchase a side ride pass or an all day pass and explore some of the city's most quaint places all by aquabus.

We live on the north side waterfront of False Creek and use the aqua ferry frequently as a transportation system to Granville Island for shopping and to visit the various pubs and restaurants to the east in Olympic Village.

I have used this service many times from fairview slopes to Granville island or from either of those points over to Urban Fare in Yaletown. Apparently the water of false creek is dirty though so don't dip fingers in.....

Had a lazy Sunday afternoon with a light lunch, and appies and drinks in 3 different locations on the island. We opted to end the afternoon with an Aquabus ride from Granville Island around the inner harbor. It was wonderful. A roughly 40 minute ride seeing the sites from the water. It was a view we hadn't seen in quite... More

This is a great way to bounce around the False Creek area. You can hop on and off to visit sites, restaurants or shopping. It is a nice way to stay out of the crazy traffic and see some of downtown for a different perspective.

We only made a short trip to visit Granville island and would repeat the 5 minute experience. These are only rowing boat sized however and not for the hesitant of step. If you are old - like me - and have to take care stepping into a moving boat, this small craft may not be for you.

Staying in Granville Island & Fairview

Neighbourhood Profile
Granville Island & Fairview
One of the favoured neighbourhoods for a day out, Granville Island's packed theatres and art studios, hobby shops and book stores, restaurants and bars, all offer a plethora of activities and entertainment options, leaving no one bored. The highlight of the area is the Fisherman's Wharf, where the seagulls overhead and the smell of the sea invigorate its many visitors, some of who are there to shop the fresh wares at the public market, and others of whom have arrived to take in the eclectic atmosphere. A popular seafood destination, and Vancouver's leading spot for improv and amateur theatre, Granville Island is an indulgent, welcoming entertainment centre in any season or time of day.
