Roedde House (1893) transports you in time to the life of an immigrant family in early Vancouver (incorporated in 1886 with a population of 1,000). Located in the West End, the first prestigious residential neighbourhood in Vancouver, this Queen Anne Revival style manor was designed...More

Walking into the Roedde House Museum takes you to the Cities only Heritage House and offers a snapshot of the life of an immigrant family that originated in Germany and became well known, setting up the first bookbinder and printing shop in the lower mainland....More

They have done a wonderful job of restoring the house to its original state. The restored house brings to life the era in which the family lived. The write-ups in each room are well done and they have many, many artifacts. The outside is beautifully...More

This 1893 late Queen Anne Revival house formerly held the family of Gustav Roedde, an immigrant from Germany and Vancouver's first bookbinder. Since 1990, the building has been a museum devoted to showing how a middle-class Vancouver family lived in the early 19th century. The...More

I'm writing this review purely for the jazz nights they have at the museum. (I have been to the museum as well and found it interesting/worth a visit, but the jazz nights are just exceptional). I almost don't want to write this review, as it's...More

While the inside of the house has historic qualities, the outside deserves attention too with its beautiful gardens. A lovely place to sit and relax amidst the flowers and foliage, not far from Denman and so quiet even though it's in the middle of the...More

West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines
verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with
Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a
paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and

languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset
Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to
take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along
