The False Creek Ferries are a great alternative to reaching Granville Island and False Creek venues with no parking to contend with. Inexpensive, efficient and a short ride to a great place called Granville Island. The ferries offer the pleasure of a mini boating excursion with a terrific view of the West End.

You can start this trip anywhere on False Creek where there is a ferry dock. Our favourite is to start at the Olympic Village dock. (Find in on Google Maps) Buy a day pass and pick a destination. The best day trip we find is to walk the seawall for part of the time then hop a ferry when tired... More

Yes, I know why - because the universe conspired to put me in Vancouver and not Venice. Still, this is a great way to see the City, and in the days when I lived a walk from one of the piers, it was a pleasure to pop across to Granville Island, shop, and come back with the bobbing waves and... This is a lovely way to get from downtown to Granville Island and back. A short trip and lovely view through spacious windows. Definitely recommend and I have lived here 36 years.

Great fun for young and old. A great all weather go to form of transport. I wish we had realised the importance of these ferries immediately on arrival. Cheap fares, cheerful staff and happy customers 😊🇨🇦

These little boats are an attraction in itself as they zip across False Creek to service Granville Island, the museum and also stops along the creek at frequent intervals, all the skippers are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and the day tickets are really worth it as there are a number of attractions along the way. Going along the creek... More

You can either use these or the aquabus as transportation to get around False Creek. The False Creek Ferries are bit more expensive, but they do have a couple extra stops than the aquabus.

Seriously the most charming and adorable way to get around in Vancouver. At first I was like... huh? Am I standing in the right place? But then the little ferry came by and the "captain" was as friendly as can be. She answered questions and made change for people while driving the boat, love it! Great way to get to... More

Staying in Granville Island & Fairview

Neighbourhood Profile
Granville Island & Fairview
One of the favoured neighbourhoods for a day out, Granville Island's packed theatres and art studios, hobby shops and book stores, restaurants and bars, all offer a plethora of activities and entertainment options, leaving no one bored. The highlight of the area is the Fisherman's Wharf, where the seagulls overhead and the smell of the sea invigorate its many visitors, some of who are there to shop the fresh wares at the public market, and others of whom have arrived to take in the eclectic atmosphere. A popular seafood destination, and Vancouver's leading spot for improv and amateur theatre, Granville Island is an indulgent, welcoming entertainment centre in any season or time of day.
