Lots of great shopping and restaurants within walking distance. No need to rent a car unless you are thinking of venturing out far. Most places are Handicap accessible. Locals are very friendly. No need to convert currency if you use a credit card. All merchants, taxis, hotel, etc that we ran into accepted credit. Hotel can arrange any tours, transportation... More

Although very short time spent on VA downtown, I really enjoyed the night scene and beautiful water landscapes.

Our family is very biased towards the city of Vancouver. We come often from Seattle to get a good city hit. Spectacular backdrop scenery at the mountains and plenty of water views. Fun neighborhoods like Yaletown and Gastown, both of which are reasonable walking if your hotel is downtown. The downtown Vancouver Art Museum is a well curated and worth... More

Being surrounded by crystal clear water in every direction, and enormous mountains in the background, Vancouver is a very pretty city. The city is modern, clean and the streets are wide. the airport is less than a 30 min drive from downtown, making it very convenient to get to and from. Lots of marinas and a great skyline. But as... There is no other city quite like it. Vancouver is 120 years young bright beautiful and full of the tremendous energy of youthfulness that promises that this city shall reign supreme over the globe as one of the lovliest places on the planet. Something for every taste. With an area population of about 2 million we last year hosted 22... More

I stayed on Robson and enjoyed the ease of walking to and around downtown. Buses are dependable but I did not use the buses this trip. The best shops for a wide range of prices, plus conveniently located and variety of foods.

Lovely city, friendly people clean and welcoming. Stayed for 5 days, either end of a Whistler ski trip. It really felt like home, and could seriously see how we could live there (currently enjoying our life in rural England). I would recommend this place to anyone. The only But - is that it's generally quite pricey for everything. We stayed... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
