Playland is part of the PNE (Pacific National Exhibition) fairgrounds in Vancouver and is BC's most famous amusement park. Playland features exhilarating rides and attractions, exciting midway games, mini-golf, a climbing wall, arcade and a variety of delicious food.

Playland offers over 30 rides and attractions, including three exciting roller coasters. One of the most loved and talked about attractions at Playland is the historic Wooden Roller Coaster. This spectacular coaster has been operating at the park since 1958 and is cited as a "Coaster Classic" by the American Coaster Enthusiasts organization, which is an honour shared by only 22 other wooden coasters in the world.

For the more adventurous visitors, there is the Corkscrew roller coaster which takes thrill-seekers upside down with a double helix inversion and the extreme swing ride Atmosfear, which takes you up 218 feet in the air while spinning 70km/hour. And new to Playland this year is The Beast, an extreme thrill ride that will have you screaming in terror before you even get strapped in! For those wanting a slower pace, there's a variety of rides including the Westcoast Wheel, a ferris wheel that gives you views of the entire city.

Unique to Playland is Kids Playce, an area designated for parents and families with children between the ages of 2-10. Kids Playce provides the perfect setting for families looking to spend some time together in a clean, safe and kid-friendly environment. In 2013, two new rides were added to Kids Playce: Teacups and Balloon Explorers. Playland is open from May to September.

In October, Fright Nights possesses Playland. Face your fears at Western Canada's scariest Halloween event. Experience Fright Nights' seven spine-chilling haunted houses: Asylum, Darkness, FEAR, Car-N-Evil, Haunted Mansion, Hollywood Horrors, and the new Keepers Doll Factory; 13 petrifying rides; 66 nightmarish 'scarers' and grotesque nightly shows, which all promise an exhilarating and terrifying Halloween experience.

Fun but expensive

The rides are very fun and its nice to go slightly off season so it isn't as busy. The food is great too but expensive. Admission is also pricey.

Pre-bought tickets online to save time and money , we were there at opening and the line took well over an hour to get in and as we neared the gate playland ticket office were sending new ticket buyers to the front of the line !!! 1st haunted house lineup... Waste of money. All the rides are spinning and it just simply isn't fun. Being someone who has visited amusement parks all around North America . There is nothing play land has to offer especially for how much you pay for entry. Plus it is simply dirty. Vancouver can do so much better especially with the weather they have all... More

Our ages ranged from 66 to 3 and we all had a great time! For thrill seekers there are some unusual and exciting rides and for grandchildren there is an excellent range of rides which they can go on by themselves. The cost of entry was very reasonable compared with some of the better known amusement parks and the staff... More

The amusement park has something for everyone in the family, from Grandparents to new babies. Families meet and spread out and enjoy the many facets of this park, rides, food, music, games, beer garden. Good parking, good washroom facilities, easy access to ATMs.

Love the Playland for a good ride on the hellevator; we went during the PNE and enjoyed the open air summer concert series.

Playland is a lot of fun, and relatively inexpensive when compared to many other amusement parks. If you go during the week or earlier in the season the line ups won't be too bad. There are rides for all levels of thrill seekers. Buy the all day ride pass. The tickets are a bit pricey and you will be owing... More

We went on the last weekend of the PNE and it was very busy! This is our first time back in over 10 years and this place is starting to show it's age!

The kids wanted to go while we were in Vancouver. We arrived when it opened and we're done by 2:30. 2 rides are really good, of course the old wooden Rollercoaster and the Beast. The kids went on 2 pay rides that they loved aswell. Can not recall what the names are but cost $50 for the two of them... More
