This expansive beach offers fantastic picnicking opportunities, swimming, beach volleyball, or simply a panoramic view of Vancouver and the mountains. Spanish Banks tends to be a quieter beach which makes it very family-friendly.

This is a great place to enjoy short order food (not fine dining). The concession is typically open during day light hours during the summer but hours of operation tend to be very erratic during the spring and autumn seasons as the operator of the...More

Spanish banks is one of the most wonderful locales in beautiful Vancouver! Easy to find, easy to park, and what a relaxing place! There are separated walking and biking paths, volleyball nets set up on the beach in summer, picnic spots, viewing benches, concession stands,...More

My friend showed me this area of Vancouver. It has lovely beaches for long, leisure walks. I took many pictures of the mountains and the Vancouver skyline. This is a great place to sit for a sunrise or sunset. There was driftwood on the beach....More

The winding beach area has areas prime for photography of the Vancouver skyline as well as the mountains to the north of the city. While the barges anchored in the bay can be seen as an obstruction to the view they do lend to the...More

On a sunny Christmas morning this open space with family and dogs was a popular meeting place. A sea otter kept a small crowd busy as he swam ashore with a duck in its mouth, hiding between rocks to despatch it.

We went for a stroll on a winter afternoon and enjoyed the great views across the ocean: downtown on the right, West Vancouver in front and the mountains on the left. Incredible place, it must be awesome in summer!

This beach is tucked away in a somewhat remote corner of UBC lands, so you should drive or cycle there. The views are well worth the trip, and its a beautiful walk along the beach and walking/cycling trails. The vistas looking north are beautiful, and...More

West Point Grey
West Point Grey is one of the city’s oldest

sprawling view of the English Bay awaits. The central
village is an oasis of sovereign shops, many of them
in local operation for years. The neighbourhood has a
