Although Government House is often closed for indoor visits the gardens are beautiful. Great for photo opportunities and you can often see deer passing by. Its a wonderful part of BC's History.

Be sure to check their website for tour dates of the house. It’s usually offered once a month with two tours that day. Very interesting, led by knowledgeable docents. Definitely worth your time. Gardens and tea room are a bonus!

Some of the most beautiful gardens in Victoria. We always walk through the grounds once or twice a week when we are there. It is a true gift to Canadians.

I love visiting here regularly as it is always changing. The iris show is quite spectacular as well as the rhodos and other flowering bushes. The best free to view garden in Victoria in my opinion.

The manicured grounds are beautiful, the trees, plants and flowers are amazing. This is a wonderful place to visit, and being free of entrance fee is a bonus. It is just a 10 minutes walk from Craigdarroch Castle.

This is a great place to visit. The tours are free Friday to Sunday and are done with a tour leader. They are interesting and informative. Afterwards enjoy a walk around the gardens.

The the grounds are very rarely closed - the last time was when the Prince and Princess and children stayed there. Other than that, I can't recall a time when the grounds were not open to the public.
