If you are going to Victoria the Empress is a sure bet that you will be surrounded by beautiful furnishings, traditional high standards that you expect on a vacation or getaway. We were not disappointed. The room was pleasant, room service delicious and quick, staff very friendly and accommodating.

Beautiful hotel! It was still in the remodeling/construction phase so we were unable to see it in its original finished splendor. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel were excellent, and the service was very attentive. Our view was over the water in the harbor. The bathroom was updated, but it was small. There were steps up to the bedroom that... More

A lovely place for high tea in the afternoon and then a drink at night. Fortunately, the rooms are undergoing some major renovations, so I'm sure it will be a comfortable place to stay. However, being a Fairmont Hotel, it is quite expensive.

The hotel is under restoration. There are orange fences in front of the building and the entrance can be confusing. The hotel is connected to a more modern convention center. We arrived to make reservations for high tea and were treated very rudely by the hostess. Needless to say, we left without making a reservation.

The hotel lobby and halls are free to walk around, but unless you want to drop major dollars buy your coffee, Afternoon tea, drinks, meals somewhere else in Victoria. Very expensive, if you are tempted ask to see the menu first.

I had the chance to stop by the Empress and even though the entrance is undergoing renovations I had just exceptional customer service from a young man at the front desk named Zachary. He was helpful, pleasant and a real credit to first class customer service - bravo!

We stopped in for a drink in the Bengal Bar to find that it was closed! Now they have this semi-modern Q bar with over priced drinks. They said they did not have B&B, but I saw some in the next bar over on the way out. Paid $55 for 3 drinks. Just an overpriced pretentious bar: not something special... More

Victoria's Inner Harbour is an incredible tourist attraction with the crown being the Empress Hotel. Elegance....is actually understated.

My daughter and I celebrated Mother's Day and her birthday at the Empress. We only attended High Tea, but walked through the hotel public areas. High Tea is very expensive but worth every penny. The staff at the hotel were very gracious and friendly.
