It's a spectacular hotel, and while in the midst of renovation (scheduled to be finished late Spring '17) it was excellent. Stayed in Fairmont Gold room with Barbour view. Small things matter and this hotel does it right, such as complimentary coffee, juice and pastries delivered with your wake up call. Makes one feel welcome and special. Staff are so... More

We'd been here many years ago, and it was sad to see what Fairmont did to the place. The interior is worn, the afternoon tea a disaster, the Bengal room gone. The carpeting is worn. The management is cashing in on nostalgia.

This is one of Canada's great hotels. The grounds, the lobby, the rooms and the famous Bombay Bar make this one-of-a-kind hotel very special indeed. We've stayed twice, and loved it both times. Ask for a room with a view of the harbor.

want to see true royalty? This is a must see when on this Island. We have lunch and wine, and enjoyed being pampered for a short time.

My room is so cozy, luxurious and beautifully decorated yet feels very homy, even to me, country pumpkin. I got upgraded to a deluxe king room for having just signed up for the Fairmont loyalty program, which provides excellent value even to unfrequent clients. I wish I could stay here more often! Very impressed with the renos and top notch... More

When in Victoria, we always do a walk through The Empress. It is a wonderful historic hotel. And one can do "High Tea" but bring along some serious $$$$. Cost is (as of this review) $75 per person. We walked by the room where "High Tea" is served and glanced at the few patrons enjoying the various delights that come... More

We were walking about and decided to walk through this Inner Harbour Icon. High tea was on but more for visiting foreigners than Vancouver Island residents. Lovely bar just past main entrance on the left. Kind of a mish mash as they have moved checkin to a back section of hotel as they appear to be catering to people attending... More

Recently stayed here four nights while my husband was attending a meeting. The hotel is being remodeled in sections but that did not interfere with our stay. Our room was nicely appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable and there were plugs galore for our your iPads, iPhones, etc. Our room was recently renovated. The shower was huge and modern. Overall,... More
