I traveled here with my nephews and they loved it. I have never seen my youngest nephew so engrossed in anything. He loved having the bugs crawl on his hands, but was disappointed that only the adults were able to hold the tarantula.

Kind of in the central touristy district is this two room museum of giant, living, insects. Two naturalists are there to answer questions and allow you to handle some of the specimens. Ash was very knowledgeable and so into his work that it made exploring...More

We took our 3 year old and he loved the bugs. He couldn't focus through the tour but he led us on our own. My husband was so engrossed in all of it I could barely get him to leave!

Well worth your while to stop here on your way to the Butchart Garden. A spectacular display of insects, including ants, butterflies and beetles. The butterfly garden has numerous butterflies, turtles, parrots and flamingos. Don't forget to take in the tropical plants and flowers. Great for the family.

VBZ is a great place to go to for a kid's birthday. I have hosted two parties here before and have been a guest to countless others. It's a great rainy day activity, too. I put average because I don't like bugs.

I believe it was $10 per person. Although at first that may seem high it really was worth it. Make sure that you get engaged in the tour.
