One of Fredericton’s most beautiful and historic areas, Officers’ Square was named one of the Top 10 Public Spaces in Canada! It was a centre of military activity when Fredericton was garrisoned by the British and Canadian Armies. During July and August, it is the site for outdoor summer concerts, the Changing of the Guard ceremony, daily outdoor theatre, and a variety of festivals and events throughout the year.

We were walking by and was able to see a practice session for the army in progress. We felt lucky to be a part of something so patriotic (they performed the national anthem).

While out wali g Fredericton trails and city centre, we happened on the changing of the guard at Officers Square. Liked the way they select someone from the crowd to review the troop. Can be a little loud for tiny ears, so cover the children's...More

Drove over to the Garrison District from the other side of the river and they were on parade when we arrived.

I enjoyed a concert, and then a movie presentation on a Saturday evening. They even have chairs to borrow for out of town guests, but I had some in the car. Sunday afternoon I returned to the square to enjoy a tea and a muffin...More

The Officers' Square of Fredericton is the place for strolls in the (small) park and concerts in the summer time. There could be more signs with explanations in the park area.

Concerts on Tuesday's & Thursdays all summer long. Beautiful place to stop & rest on walks in the downtown area. Several restaurants in the area. Next to a museum.

Officer's square is a beautiful part of the downtown and often hosts great events, but there is always a military show of force which makes a lot of gunshot noises.

Officer's Square is open to the public all the time. As for the museum, I do not know but you could check with the City of Fredericton on-line. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your visit!
