Highly recommend you visit the Rooms when you visit St. John's. This ultra clean facility houses a museum, gift store, community rooms and a cafe'. The rooms has a great museum which is easy to casually spend time enjoying the art and history of Newfoundland. Entrance fee is very reasonable. $10 per adult. Family rates available as well. Friendly, polite... More

I was pleasantly surprised at the collection on display at The Rooms. It is both an art gallery and museum, and claims to hold over 7,000 items. The collection is vast and varied, both historical and contemporary, and this is complemented by pieces that are on loan from other collections and artists. I was pleased to see a piece from... I've visited the rooms many times, and usually pop in about once a year. It is a beautiful building with interesting exhibits.

The Rooms, dominating the skyline of historic St. John's, is a marvellous facility that incorporates a museum, fine art galleries, and the provincial archives. Art exhibitions and installations are always interesting and diverse. The World War I exhibit is outstanding and occupies one large wing of the museum. The numerous exhibits focus very much on the men and women who... More

One of our favourite museums of all time! Great treatments of pre-history and history of NFLD. Well organized with an honest treatment of colonization and migration through time. The view from the cafeteria is a real bonus.

The Rooms is a majestic building which houses a provincial museum with permanent and rotating displays. The displays are interesting, well-planned, and present a wonderful snapshot of the history, culture, and art of province. The building is huge and is an architectural marvel with guides and pamphlets providing detailed information of the displays. There is a cafe inside with a variety... More

We loved our visit here. There was enough to keep the kids entertained. Lots of cool things to see. More geared towards older kids but I didn't get any compliments from the young ones. Reading age would be best.

As a Newfoundlander I've been here a number of times and it has always been enjoyable. Exhibits usually change every so many months, the Beaumont hamel exhibit almost takes up a full floor and is a great exhibit to see. The cafe in top floor offers great views, good food, but menu is very limited. There is a small entrance... More
