It is nice and peaceful to walk around Frame Lake following the trail. Frame Lake has a nice metal sculpture at its bank behind City Hall and it is one of the iconic pictures of Yellowknife.

Three of us walked along this trail all around Frame Lake. It is beautiful! It is about 9 km long, but relatively easy hiking as long as you are wearing appropriate footwear. Stopped along the way to admire the Yk skyline, have a quick bite...More

I recently stayed up here for 4 nights and truly enjoyed my walks around Frame Lake each evening. It's very doable and safe during daylight hours but the town side can attract a different element come darkness so be aware. Wear good shoes and there...More

This easy walking trail leads from my hotel (which is close to the hospital) to the downtown. This is a wide paved road easy to walk with kids

What a view along the lake, very peaceful and serene. Easy walk on the paved trail. Did not go on the unpaved part but wish I did.

The trip around Frame Lake takes about 45 minutes at a casual pace. Watch for the red marks on the Canadian Shield so you know which way to head.

We went for a walk on the Trail after dinner, but did not do the entire route. It's a very pleasant walk, except in the summer, I'd consider bug spray - the bugs aren't too bad except for pockets of mosquitoes here and there -...More

Hello. Frame Lake if the trail is started from Stanton Hospital is a gentle decline to a straight flat walk along the trail to the Legislative Assembly. There are numerous places along the way stop and rest. There is a... More
