Favorite shop in YK

If you are looking for something made in the North, that's the place! Nothing made in China here. And awesome handmade Dene products.

This is a smaller shop on the edge of OLd Town but well worth visiting. Their prices were on par with every other shop but they did have some unique items for sale I didn't see elsewhere.

A small gallery featuring great works of art by local Yellowknife artists - definitely worth a visit while exploring Old Town.

Enjoyed looking at all the beautiful items they had for sale. Yes, I bought a few of their art pieces...I have one of them pictured. This is an enamel on copper wrap bracelet, but I use it as a necklace. They had several... it was difficult to choose just one !!

I came here twice in the week that I was in Yellowknife. It was a great place with lots of different artwork. I met an artist from Yellowknife as well as she pointed me towards this gallery as it has good relationships with the artists that put their artwork out.

The gallery is next to the Woodyard Brewhouse, they open from 12pm, so it's a great visit after lunch. Lots of interesting arts, reasonable price for art collect beginners.

This place has some very beautiful little things including clay pot souvenirs (ptarmigans) but also some fantastic photographs of Fran Hurcomb. It is relatively small but compared to some of the other souvenir shops in town, it has some nice and useful pieces! Very nice!
