We were greeted at the door and welcomed into the sanctuary. I was allowed to play the organ, a fine instrument, and we heard of the history of the building. Then we wandered through the graveyard and picked up Buckeye nuts.

We were recommended to visit this St. George Anglican Church & Graveyard. It had a main tower and its entrance was quite attractive. The church was built by bricks. Quite solid! Inside the church, the window behind the altar was oval. There were two flags,...More

Quaint old church. Walking to the downtown from the cruise ship dock we passed this church. It was the highlight of our walk.

We stopped here on our walking tour. It was interesting to see the pictures of Queen Elizabeth when she visited here. There is a pew for the royal family with red velvet kneelers.

Beautiful old church with all its character. Built in 1785 and still in very decent shape. Well worth the stop

If you are interested in history and old buildings, you will not want to pass by this little church in the north end of downtown.

St. George's is a beautiful church situated in the small city of Sidney, Nova Scotia. The inside is very charming. Outside in need of some repairs. Congregation is raising money to do the repairs. One of the few places to see in this city.

The oldest church in Sydney with lovely volunteers who are knowledgeable about the history of the church. Although the congregation has amalgamated with two other Anglican churches and moved elsewhere, the church is still consecrated and holds one service a month. It seems to be...More
