It's a great little aviation museum with lots to see and they are working on opening up new exhibits. The museum entry is by donation and it's definitely worth a stop if you are into aviation or history. There are a lot of interactive displays which shows Canada's contribution to the war effort. They have a number of planes on... More

Best little Aviation Museum east of Montreal. Young and old can climb aboard some of the exhibits for a hands on experience. Not that many people seem to know about it. A whole lot of East Coast Aviation history, tucked away in this museum.

Visited with my five-year old, and spent close to an hour and a half. Great exhibits, the airplane hangers amazed him, plus the staff were actually doing some work on one of the planes while we were there - and chatted with us for a bit. The little guy was amazed, and loved the incredible dioramas and reconstructions. I enjoyed... More

We spent about 2 hours and found it to be very fine museum. If you have any interest in aviation you would enjoy your visit here.

Lots of restored full-sized aircraft of WW2 and later. Very good displays of events, people, planes and places related to the RCN, the RCAF, and Shearwater base. Also material on Canada's three aircraft carriers from the past. Well worth a visit, inexpensive to enter, lots of interesting things to see. The old Swordfish "Stringbag" is quite rare, one of only... More

A small, but informative museum, located just outside the Shearwater base. You can see and touch different exhibits dating back to Naval Air days.

It is fairly small, but well laid out and the additional interesting point is that it is at the entrance of the military base. The people that you meet, may be actual pilots. You may see search and helicopters and planes coming and going... Once a year it is home to the air show...

The history of Canadian Military Aviation at the Shearwater base is well told by the wonderful exhibits and the vintage aircraft on display. The magnificent art gallery with numerous original paintings of aviation art features Canadian artists. Admission is FREE!
