Have boat, will travel....and we did to McNab a few times this summer; have to get back to explore some more. Love traveling the 'lazy river'. Just minutes away from Halifax and you are in a new world.

Great description of history and significant buildings, plants, wildlife by the Friends of McNabs Island. Pretty view of Halifax Harbour and the entrance to the West Arm Narrows from the cannon sites on McNabs.

Sorry, I would say the trails are not wheel chair accessable. Some are quite rocky and others are very steep.

The "Ferry" to McNabs is any one of a number of small operators who work from Dartmouth and Eastern Passage . Call Mike Tilley of mcnabs island tours, 902-465-4563, as I remember we went over and back for 42$ for 2 people... More
