Wonderful place. Great just to sit and relax and reflect. I did this rather quickly, as it started raining.

This is an important part of our black cultural heritage. This is where Africville once stood before the whole black community was relocated to make room for the MacKay Bridge. A sad part of our history . It is a peaceful area now and lovely to stroll or stop for a picnic.

We went to pay our respects and to see the Church and to reflect on what happened here and the life of the Community is still so strong to this day. The views are excellent and it is worth the time too see.

This very underutilized park located in the north end of Halifax on the bedford basin is a true diamond of a place to visit. take a picnic lunch and lounge under a tree with breath taking views of the Bedford Basin or simply walk its short paths and enjoy the serenity of a park dedicated to the Black community of... The park was hard to get to and it is weird that it is a dog park. You need to check out the museum and learn about Africville. It is a part of Canadian history that often isn't taught or known about. A large group of Canadians of African background but have been in Canada for many generations, were moved... More

Park with a view of Bedford Basin. Only visit in the daytime- before 4pm Watch where you step due to dogs at large. Next to container port, between the highway bridge approaches and the Basin.

This park is beautiful. However, both times I was there, there were some dogs who were not well socialized, and bordering on aggressive. Be careful and just do a scan of the park before you off leash your dogs.

It was nice to go to a historical and see the names of families that once lived there, and later their homes and their lives were destroyed because of their race. Now it is a dog park for animals to use as a bathroom...and I guess to satisfiy the families that once lived there can reunite together once a year... More

Seaview Park memorializes Africville, the historic center of a Black community that dates back to the 1700s (the oldest in Canada). Sadly it fell victim to urban renewal in the 60s, but annually the old families gather here to celebrate their roots.

This is the old Africville site, then the city dump, now an off leash dog park. Always lots of dogs to socialize a puppy. There is an Africville reunion here every summer, and a church has been reconstructed outside the park gate.
