This was so much fun and free! Just make sure you have government ID with you. You can borrow roller skates, rollerblades, bicycles, etc...! It was a ton of fun and the teenage girls that I barely know had a great time.

Lays something fun to do here . It's a wonderful service that skates can be borrowed free of charge whether roller skates for summer or ice skates in winter. It's a perfect place for a family outing.

Fun place to enjoy a skate for experienced skaters. We can thank Mr Peter J Kelly for that as well as a much cleaner Halifax harbour making walking on the waterfront enjoyable again! The Oval can be harrowing for inexperienced, slow skaters and young children...More

We really liked this place for one reason - that you can borrow skates/bikes/scooters at no cost (except in providing your gov't issued ID). For someone coming out of town, this was a fantastic opportunity that we just weren't going to pass on. There were...More

The Oval is open every day for biking and inline skating. The best part is that bikes, helmets and skates are provided free. Many different types and sizes. My wife goes three times a week and rides a three wheel adult bike that is provided....More

The oval offers a neat experience of open air skating in the heart of Halifax, although the surface is not as smooth or as easy to skate on as what you would find in a rink. There are skate rentals on site, and it's normally...More

Awesome little area to rollerblade in the summer. I went solo and had a great time. Helmets required. Very good atmosphere. Surface is flat and nice to ride on. Absolutely beautiful area. Free.

Parking is tough. There are 2 hour spots along the adjoining road but there aren't many, there's also spots on northbound Robie street. I usually don't need to do more than a lap around the commons to find a spot but if it's... More
