Woke up to viwing the island. Perhaps an advantage of traveling by cruise ship. The fortress appears intact and the lighthouse is still in use. We were told tours may be available next year.

You cannot access this lighthousd unless you have a boat. It is located on George's Island. The lighthouse is easily viewed from the Piazza on the waterfront in downtown Halifax.

Due to issues with the site, we could only admire it from afar. The boardwalk, and Pier 21 provided great views. Hopefully they will be able to get it open to the public soon!

George's Island it’s just by the farmers market and the waterfront. I only appreciated it from afar. I found it to be nostalgic, but in a good way, sweet lonely little island with a few small houses and a lighthouse

George's Island is inaccessible but you can see it and the lighthouse from the Boardwalk and Halifax shores. Cute to photograph.

As our cruise ship was entering Halifax Harbour, what an opportunity to take the most perfect photographs of this wonderfully scenic lighthouse. A beautiful backdrop with the green hills behind it and the rock boulders lining the waterscape. Great! Only my number one also here...More
