In 1820, Alexander Keith established his brewery in the heart of Halifax. Now, 196 years later, we’re proud to welcome you back into our home on Lower Water Street, the Alexander Keith’s Nova Scotia Brewery. We invite you to come and visit us at our beautifully restored and renovated brewery, and to try our exciting new beers crafted by our brewmaster, Stefan Gagliardi. Cheers to all things raised in Nova Scotia.

Beer continues to be brewed after over a hundred years. Has a similar vibe to the Guinness brewery in Dublin. More than just another excuse to hoist a pint.

The employees at Alexander Keith's are very passionate and informative about their brewery and their brewing process. Tour takes about an hour. Although I wasn't a fan of all the beers I tasted, I did enjoy a couple. Won't spoil all the surprises but it's...More

Stopped in for a beer and dinner. Both were great and the atmosphere was awesome! Our friends had recommended Alexander Keith’s and we’re so glad they did. We can’t wait to go back.

Did a tour of the brewery while in Halifax a few weeks ago. Was such an enjoyable time! The staff were so knowledgable, the history so incredible, and the ceilidh at the end of the tour so fun, that even many non-beer drinkers would enjoy...More

The only thing we enjoyed was the ladies singing. Not wearing period time costume and performance seemed rushed. I could have read the little we learned, and the music was not worth the fee.

This was a most excellent tour... the tour itself was informative and entertaining but the highlight was at the end when the tour staff played some music for us while we enjoyed our samples of the end product.

Excellent tour of the brewery and with a good dose of history of Alexander Keith and Halifax thrown in. The guides are very knowledgeable and very entertaining. Good sized samples of various beers. Ends with a wee ceilidh at the end. The only disappointing part...More

We did not take the tour cause we came a little late and the last one started already. Building inside and out was impressive. Too bad we didn't get the tour on our bus trip. We tried all the samples there was to offer. All...More

Take my info for what it's worth, which is 3 visits. The only other songs I've heard is "farewell to nova Scotia" and the fables "heave away". Wethersfield or not those still occur in can't vouch for.

They start you off with their signature is, but at the end there are several beers to sample.
