I first visited LOTW in 1970 camping on a island not far from Sioux Narrows. I have made a trip every year but 2 since then. There are many resorts in many price ranges. LOTW is so big you either need a guide or be good reading maps. Each year we ventured further and further to reach good walleye water.... More

Absolutely gorgeous lake. Fished for walleye and caught our limit daily! Some of the homes on this lake are unbelievable! Can not begin to imagine how many islands on this lake and how many acres of water!!!

My partner and I were driving across the country and stumbled upon Ash Rapids Lodge when there was no room in Kenora. From the moment we got to the landing we knew we were in for a perfect evening. The boat ride to the resort took about 20 minutes, our cabin overlooked the lake and was clean, simple and the... More

Unknown to most and certainly overshadowed by its neighbour, Lake Superior, it is nonetheless one of the most surprising discoveries one can make while travelling from Toronto towards Alberta, as we were doing during our Trans Canada Road Odyssey. We passed Sioux Narrows after our night at Quetico Provincial Park and proceeded along the shores of what we later realised... More

My husband and I were out for a drive and decided to stop in at the resort for supper. We live nearby, but had never eaten there before. We each had, what is referred to on the menu as a "steak sandwich". It was an 8oz rib eye steak with a slice of their famous "red river bread" toasted. Our... More

with over 55,000 square miles of shore line and a lake that spans Ontario, Manitoba and Minnesota you can just imagine how beautiful it is. A group of friends and I go fishing up here every year and we stay at Ash Rapids Lodge. the fishing never disappoints and the staff at the lodge is just great.

I fell in love with the teller at my bank when—while answering a question about mysterious service charges, new interest rates, or somesuch financial arcana—her deep brown eyes lit, swerved, and alighted on something behind me. After an enchanted instant, she silently pointed to a single, bowed strand of spider’s silk, running from an ancient, grey video camera (which now... More

Several weeks before our long awaited family trip to LeBrons Long Bay resort, my father collapsed needing emergency heart surgery. Our family was devastated and rallied to his side. I knew the trip could not take place. I immediately called LeBrons to explain and I barely got the explanation out of my mouth when the owner angrily barked at me... More

We hired a house boat and sailed slowly up the lake. Animals all over. Beautiful waters. Great walleye. Boat was awesome. We were so isolated it was like being lost. Wish all to see something this good.

Grassy Narrows is an idyllic place that focuses on the serious fisherman and serious hunter. To be upfront, GN is pet and child friendly with helpful and pleasant staff, but there is not much in the way of child entertainment. WiFi is available and works well, phone service is marginal, even with an international plan, due to the location. I... More
