This is a well-appointed small art gallery on two levels of a building adjacent to the Mills Library on the McMaster University campus. Admission is free and the staff are extremely friendly. The current exhibition of Expressionist Art (through 3 December) has some interesting minor pieces (drawings, woodcuts, etc.) by quite a few major European artists such as Edvard Munch... More

My daughter and I enjoyed it, my wife was so-so about it. I particularly liked the 70s pieces (Bridget Riley's)_and found them to be very interesting. My daughter loved the Delacroix pencil drawings. It spans from artwork from around 500-1000 BC to present day.

Free admission (please donate if you can). Exhibits change with the university's semesters roughly. Thought provoking, stirring, masterful. Consider visiting for about an hour.

It's a great place to visit whether you are or are not from the University. They refresh the exhibits decently often and is on a great campus, which you can admire as well.

The MMA is a beautiful, small museum located on the beautiful McMaster campus. I'd recommend going to the museum in the fall, as the campus is beautiful at that time so along with the museum, you can definitely see the beauty of the campus and all it has to offer. The museum is bigger on the inside than I expected.... More

I haven't been back for a long, long time; it's always good to go back to McMaster University to pay a visit. Same good school like the good old days with some new buildings. The McMaster Museum of Art was opened for more than 2 decades (any MAC people correct me if I am wrong). It's not a huge museum... More

Great place if you like art . It is not large but if you like to contemplate good art , you could be in here quite a while . Little known so it is always so quiet and peaceful . Everything nicely displayed .

It has always been an exceptional pleasure to enter the doors of the McMaster Museum of Art. The curators at the front desk have a smile every time, the art is of a superb caliber (having been rated one of the best galleries in Canada), and the bi-monthly wine and cheese events make my life more complete. Thank you for... More
