When you drive on Baseline or Riverside you can see this impressive church with its golden towers. It looks beautiful and attractive from outside and it is a landmark for Ottawa. The surprise came when you get inside as it is as beautiful from the outside.

We attended the Ukrainian Christmas celebrations. Haunting singing, ages-old ritual in a stunning basilica; beautiful icons and breathtaking paintings in bright earth tones. A very uplifting experience.

See the statues by Leo Mol in the garden. Too abd they are so high up on badly designed plinthes as to be almsot out of sight.

This is a lovely church, which is very much part of a large and active community. I have been in several times during various bazaars and open houses and have always been treated with great respect and graciousness. If this is what you are interested in, I think it is well worth seeing, but there are other churches in the... More
