I went to high school down the road from this monument and it would make me so proud to see it every day. It's informative, and really makes you appreciate being Canadian with the blessings of having your government acknowledge and fight for your rights.

The Canadian Tribute to Human Rights, is a monumental sculpture located at the corner of Lisgar and Elgin. The monument is impressive but not too much as a tourist attraction.

The monumental is inspirational in its intent, but assumed even more meaning for me after I saw Mandela visit there. Imagine him there - frail but loving the children and crowds - as you visit it. I will never forget it.

It's not a bad piece of sculpture and has some interesting geometry. But one would think a monument to human rights should be more impressive. Also, it should be on the grounds of Parliament Hill. But instead it just sits tucked away on Elgin Street...More
