The show at the gallery and the gallery itself was the highlight of our visit to Peterborough. The paintings were fabulous and the gallery was obviously pleased to show them. We attended a talk by the curators which added to our gallery visit immensely. The location of the gallery on the river cannot be beat.

I am a local patron who loves to frequent the gallery, whether just popping by with a friend for a visit or to pop into the gallery gift shop to pick up a gift. The AGP gallery is a hidden gem, that shouldn't be missed.

Small municipal art galleries are often the little-known treasures in many places. And when I saw the concrete sofa on the lawn outside this gallery near the water, i thought, somebody here has a sense of humour. It is heartbreaking to see that vandals have visited here too. This gallery has some great artwork. It's in a park on the... More

My Wife and I visited during Canada day and found a very nice canoe exhibit along with some of the gallery's main art pieces. Not sure if the gallery is always free but it was during Canada day weekend.

No trip to Peterborough should be done without seeing their Art Gallery. We went there on Canada day and found that although there are limited space to show their pictures, those shown are very good. One side of the wall was dedicated to industrial pictures. On our way to the basement part of the gallery we wondered about this small... More

I grew up in Peterborough and went here often. They get great exhibits fro pretty well known Canadian artists, especially for a gallery this size. Admission is also free, and it's in a beautiful location overlooking Little Lake.

This gallery marries an old house on the waterfront with a new , more brutalist extension, in the Trent University style. A good combination, providing the light area space of the house for the offices and gift shop and a more vault-like exhibition space in the attached building that can handle very large artwork and give it a sense of... Art. By a lake. Free. On the walls. Not only. A great big gallery with nifty stuff and activities. Sign up for something. The rooms with the view of Little Lake are great. Monet did not sleep here.
